Happy 1st Birthday Brody Bear

Our baby boy turned 1 today!!!!! I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. It seriously feels like it was just yesterday that we brought this precious baby boy home from the hospital. Here are some fun facts about our little bear...
-Brody loves to eat, he will eat anything and everything you place before him.
-Brody loves music and he tries to dance to it, it's really quite adorable!
-Brody can say.."mama","dada","Broo", (Brooke) "hi", "uh oh", and "woo-woo" (dog).
-Brody loves bedtime and is by far the easiest baby to put to bed. Brooke was easy too, both of my babies are and have been amazing sleepers, but if it's 8:30pm and he has not had his bath he'll let you know.
-Brody has a favorite blankie. Yes i have a little Linus on my hands. So far the blankie does not have to go everywhere with us but it is a must for naps, bedtime and boo boo's.
-Brody thinks his big sister Brooke is the greatest thing ever and follows her everywhere. He even cries at the bottom of the stairs if she wanders up there without him to play in her room.
-Brody has the sweetest personality. He pretty much will get into any and everything but there are times he will just sit and play with his car toys while talking sweetly to them.

Words cannot describe how much we love our little baby boy. Happy 1st birthday my little Brody bear!

Our Week in California!

The Birthday Party!!!!

Saturday, the 14th of August we threw a 1st birthday party for our Brody boy! We had so much fun celebrating and being surrounded by lots of friends and family. We did a Toy Story 3 theme and had lots of "water" activities for the kids. We had water baloons, a Buzz Light-year slip-n-slide, and a Buzz Light-year pool, bubble fun..it was great and the kids had a great time.
Brody was not to happy when it came time to sing happy birthday but after he tasted his yummy cake he was over it and enjoyed eating his birthday cake. We decided to take all of his birthday presents home and open them on his real birthday on August 23rd.
Our week home was awesome and we miss our friends and family so much. In four weeks we are flying to San Francisco for my brother's wedding and we are really looking forward to it. I feel so blessed that we have so many exciting trips planned and that Bryan's job allows us the time to go back and visit with our family so often. We are looking forward to our next trip in mid October and spending Halloween there too.

La Paella

During the week Bryan and I were able to go out on a date ( thank you Oma and Opa! ) and we went to La Paella in Los Angeles. Bryan had heard about this place from a co-worker that week and we both really wanted to try it. Bryan served his mission in Spain and we were very fortunate to spend a week in Spain before we had Brooke 5 years ago. The food in Spain was incredible. We've been to many restaurants that claim to make paella and tapas that are "authentic" to Spain. We would always leave disappointed. Well not that night!!! Our food was AMAZING! It was as if we had stepped foot right back into Spain. We left so happy and satisfied and we are planning a trip back in the very near future. I was so sad to have left my camera at home so these I took with my iphone so they are not the best quality.

Beach Day

On Saturday, August 7th we headed out to the beach. We went to Zuma beach in Malibu California. It was the perfect day for the beach. The weather was gorgeous, the water was warm and the beach was not crowded at all. Brooke was in heaven. She loves the beach. This was Brody's first trip to the beach and he enjoyed it as well. Brody is not so much of a water baby like my Brooke is but he enjoyed playing in the sand, so much so that he even ate some of course. It was the perfect day and a great way to start out a relaxing week at home in California.
