The Gateway Plaza

Today we spent the day in Salt Lake City. We traveled to the Gateway Plaza. The best way to describe it is it's kinda like a giant outdoor mall. It reminded me of The Grove in L.A. only Utah'ish and no Farmer's Market with awesome funnel cake. The weather was hot and sticky so after browsing some stores and eating lunch we could not think of a better way to cool off by playing in this awesome water area. Brooke loved it and she had a total blast running around and getting soaked in her play clothes. We ended the day with some ice-cream and then made our way home so Bryan could do some yard work..our grass needs some help, I think it's fine but our HOA didn't think so.

Last day of Princess Camp & fun stuff

Today Brooke had her last day of Princess camp. I must say this entire month she would look forward to Thursday so much. She would ask me everyday "Do I get to go to Princess camp today?!" I'm so happy she had such a great time and made many new friends. The first week the girls learned how to make jewelry. The second week it was all about make-up, painting their own nails and kissing a pretend frog. The third week the girls painted castles and made a princess coloring book and today the fun ended with crafting their own "Magic Mirrors" and a Princess Tea Party.
As for the second photo of my little man...I had searched high and low for a "dressy" outfit for him to wear to my brother's upcoming wedding in San Francisco. I've had no luck here in Utah so I gave eBay a shot and found this adorable 4 piece outfit by Nautica for Ralph Lauren. It was a steal and he looks SO adorable. The white shirt is a tad small but can be easily replaced. I just need to find shoes for him and he is all set. Brooke is going to be the flower girl in the wedding and her dress is at my parents house, Bryan is in the wedding so he's taken care of as well so that just leaves me!
Next week we leave for California for some fun, fun, fun and to celebrate Brody's 1st birthday!

Pioneer Day 2010

On Saturday July 24th we celebrated Pioneer Day. Pioneer Day is a huge holiday in Utah, some say its even celebrated more than the 4th of July. There were tons of Festivals to choose from. We ended up choosing to go to the Pioneer Day Extraveganza in Provo which is about 20 minutes from our home in Cedar Hills. It was packed, but lots of fun. They had tons of Pioneer Day activities as well as lots of interesting facts about the Pioneers that made the long journey from the East to the West.
After the Festival we headed to CPK for some pizza and on the way home we stopped and bought some fireworks to end the holiday. We were a little nervous lighting off the firewroks because it gets so windy by our house because we live at the mouth of American Fork Canyon but all of our neighbors were doing it so we figured it must be ok. We only set off a few fireworks and decided to call it quits and let the neighbors burn the neighborhood down. I guess growing up in So. California in SCV with all of the fire hazards at this time of year we were more cautious especially since we live so close to the moutains. We had a great day really enjoyed celebrating our first Pioneer Day here in Utah.

California fun & Fourth of July

We had an amazing trip to California and had such a fun 4th of July. The drive was looonnngg but Bryan and I are seriously blessed with awesome children. Brooke and Brody were so happy and pleasant. We stayed the night in Las Vegas both on the way and on our way home. It was exciting! We were able to visit with friends and family, Bryan and Grandma Albee took Brooke to see Toy Story 3 while my Mom, Brody and I shopped for dresses for my brother's wedding in September. We had trips to the beach planned but Brody started teething and was a bit uncomfortable so we had to cancel those until next month. The fourth was low key and lots of fun. We had a barbacue with my family, my brother and his fiance, made some yummy dark chocolate smores and my brother bought tons of fireworks. It was great, Brooke loved the fireworks and suprisingly Brody did too. We can't wait for our next trip down in 4 weeks to celebrate Brody's 1st birthday! Enjoy!
