Our Living Room

After waiting 3 months for our couch it was finally delivered! Yay! It was kinda scary watching my front door basically give birth twice to this monster(the loaner couch and our couch) but the guys were so professional and worked their magic without any scratches or marks on my walls. So here is our living room. As of now it's done, any and all wall painting (as well as my plantation shutters) will wait until after our walls have been touched up by our builder. (the shutters more likely will happen in the very, very, very distant future.) I don't think I've mentioned how impressed I am with our builder which is Ashton Woods, they have been wonderful. They truly take pride in the homes that they build and it shows through their work and their relationships with their customers. I love them!

I was hoping to have a built in entertainment center to fit the wall cut out that was there (you can see a previous photo in my November 2010 post) but after pricing them at several places there was no way frugal Bryan and I were going to dish out money for that especially since we needed to buy some furniture, refrigerator and landscape our backyard. So while pricing at a custom furniture store that specializes in built-in cabinetry it was suggested that they build a free standing piece and have it custom made to insert into the wall cut out. Sounds pricey right? It cut the cost of a built-in by like 75 percent and lucky for us it fit perfectly into what we had budgeted for our entertainment center. What I loved most is that we got to design the whole entire piece to our liking-everything. I love how it turned out and we even had left over funds so that Bryan was able to buy speakers and a unit for our surround sound system. Our house came pre-wired for surround sound and I'll admit I was nervous about him installing six speakers into our ceiling but it turned out great and the sound is crazy awesome. It's like we have our own movie thearte! So that may answer your question as to what the heck are those white things on the ceiling in the living room, its the speakers.

Eventually WAY down the road when the kids are older we want to purchase a piano that will live behind our king chair (the chair with the pillow A on it) that will rest against the stair wall. Bryan plays so beautifully and I'd love for him to teach me and the kids as well if they are interested someday. I'm also planning on adding a coffee table when the kids get older. Those things scare me with small children! The sharp corners, glass, babies falling and bumping heads or breaking teeth. Scary stuff!

Bryan despises my couch pillows, I LOVE them. Steinmart is my new favorite store and that is were I bought my accent pillows. My wall clock is Target as well as my floor lamp. My photo collage is one of my favorite things to just sit an stare at. The photos were taken by Nickell Photography and she is one VERY talented woman. I love her! The frames I bought at Target and my wonderful Bryan helped me hang them.

So for now my next project is Bo's room. I've started collecting things and I plan on transitioning him to a big boy bed this summer, who knows it may even be sooner since my monster has been, as of last week, refusing naps and currently HATES his crib. Maybe he's trying to tell me something! Since he's obsessed with any type of car be it a truck, van or bus I've decided on a cute little car theme. I originally wanted to do a dinosaur theme but he's more interested in cars so go with what he loves right?
Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! I got to spend the day in my pj's and my sweet Bryan made me the most delicious pancakes this morning for breakfast. Yum! Bryan is so talented, I've yet to make a successful heart shaped pancake. It was so pretty and like a good mama I let my little princess have it because she just HAD to have the only heart shaped pancake, her little round cakes just didn't taste as good as the heart shaped pancake. Bryan and the kids bought me a beautiful bag that I have been eyeing and I so love it! I also was given sweet Mother's Day cards with a beautiful drawing Brooke did for me and scribbles from my Bo. You can't really tell from the picture above but my poor little princess has been fighting a virus today and yesterday. Thankfully her fever broke late last night thanks to some natural remedies and lots of love from her mama but her icky tummy has made today not so fun for the both of us. I'm hoping Bo stays healthy as well as myself and Bryan. I'm so thankful to have such a loving little family. I love them so very much. It was so fun this week to walk by my entertainment center and see the beautiful Mother's Day cards I put up there that were sent by family and friends. It made me smile and was such a reminder to me of how blessed I am. Happy Mother's Day to you all! I also want to tell my Mom how much I love and appreciate everything she has done for me, I love you Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Gone Fishing

Our house sits next to a beautiful lake which is fully stocked with many different kinds of fish. We've caught catfish, bass, blue gill and a koi so far with our many fishing adventures. We try to fish at least once a week and we have so much fun every single time we go. Bryan bought Brooke a Disney princess fishing pole awhile back and that little pink rod is such a lucky one! Every single time we go, and I'm totally not exaggerating, Brooke catches a fish within 10 minutes of casting it out..... seriously no joke it's crazy! We always manage to catch something every time we go fishing at our lake thanks to our lucky little girl and her princess pole. Enjoy!

Cinderella Cinderella

Yesterday Brooke and I went to see Cinderella at the Hale Theatre here in Gilbert Arizona. Brooke was in awe and loved every minute of the play. Our seats were fantastic. Every seat in this theatre was great, but Brooke had the last isle seat in the North corner and a ton of characters from the play came out from the curtain behind her, even Cinderella watered her garden right in front of Brooke. We both enjoyed the play so much. Tickets were $14, a total steal for what you get, and no seat in my opinion has an obstructed view of the stage which is in the center. Brooke was so sweet and kept whispering in my ear how cool this was and how much fun she was having. Bryan gets the next date with Brooke to see Beauty and the Beast in a few months. I'm hoping to plan ahead a little bit better next time and reserve front row tickets for them.
