Fisherman's Warf...totally awesome. After picking up Bryan's tux we headed over to Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. I told Bryan there is only one thing I wanted to do on our very short trip to San Francisco..eat fish-n-chips on Fisherman's warf. Why? I'm not sure..I just wanted to do that one thing. Mission accomplished!!!! ( read post above) So while waiting for my family to arrive at Pier 39 Bryan and I enjoyed a delicious treat from Trish's Doughnuts. So good! HOT fresh mini doughnuts sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. The perfect treat.
Are we ready for fall or what? I have been meaning to post these cute pics for awhile but with Brooke in preschool now and dance classes starting up again, her schedule keeps me busy, which is nice. Love the hats? Well my incredibly talented friend Melody made them. She gave Brody two gorgeous hats for his 1st birthday last month and I knew right away that I needed a matching pumpkin hat for Brooke. Fall pictures by the pumpkin patches right!? The second hat that Brooke is wearing I won through a give-away on her blog. I love her hats and have every intention to buy one for myself in the near future. On Thursday we are leaving for San Francisco for my little brother's wedding. I'm still a bit on the nervous side flying with the kids plus it doesn't help that I get motion sickness, but I've got lots of treats and candy ready for them plus an amazing guy named Bryan to help me. If you are interested in my friend Melody's hats visit her blog...
Brooke had her first day of preschool last week! She was so excited! I've been so blessed with such an amazing child. She walked in bursting with confidence and started making new friends, she even tried her best to comfort those in her class that were having a difficult time saying good-bye to their mothers. I could not have been more proud of her. I cannot believe how fast she has grown, next year it's Kindergarten!
The second photo is of Brody and my mom. The hardest part about living here in Utah is being away from family. Brooke is so close to her Oma, and Brody has that same connection with her as well as my dad. I try to keep Brooke busy with her school schedule and dance classes but from time to time she will come to me and say " I miss my Oma, can she come over?" with tears in her eyes and it just breaks my heart. I'm so grateful that we have been able to travel back to see them quite often since we've moved. In about 2 weeks we will be traveling to San Francisco for my brother's wedding and we are very excited. I'm a little nervous to fly with two children but I'll have Bryan with me so hopefully it goes smoothly.
Our baby boy turned 1 today!!!!! I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. It seriously feels like it was just yesterday that we brought this precious baby boy home from the hospital. Here are some fun facts about our little bear... -Brody loves to eat, he will eat anything and everything you place before him. -Brody loves music and he tries to dance to it, it's really quite adorable! -Brody can say.."mama","dada","Broo", (Brooke) "hi", "uh oh", and "woo-woo" (dog). -Brody loves bedtime and is by far the easiest baby to put to bed. Brooke was easy too, both of my babies are and have been amazing sleepers, but if it's 8:30pm and he has not had his bath he'll let you know. -Brody has a favorite blankie. Yes i have a little Linus on my hands. So far the blankie does not have to go everywhere with us but it is a must for naps, bedtime and boo boo's. -Brody thinks his big sister Brooke is the greatest thing ever and follows her everywhere. He even cries at the bottom of the stairs if she wanders up there without him to play in her room. -Brody has the sweetest personality. He pretty much will get into any and everything but there are times he will just sit and play with his car toys while talking sweetly to them.
Words cannot describe how much we love our little baby boy. Happy 1st birthday my little Brody bear! Love, Mama
Saturday, the 14th of August we threw a 1st birthday party for our Brody boy! We had so much fun celebrating and being surrounded by lots of friends and family. We did a Toy Story 3 theme and had lots of "water" activities for the kids. We had water baloons, a Buzz Light-year slip-n-slide, and a Buzz Light-year pool, bubble fun..it was great and the kids had a great time. Brody was not to happy when it came time to sing happy birthday but after he tasted his yummy cake he was over it and enjoyed eating his birthday cake. We decided to take all of his birthday presents home and open them on his real birthday on August 23rd. Our week home was awesome and we miss our friends and family so much. In four weeks we are flying to San Francisco for my brother's wedding and we are really looking forward to it. I feel so blessed that we have so many exciting trips planned and that Bryan's job allows us the time to go back and visit with our family so often. We are looking forward to our next trip in mid October and spending Halloween there too.
During the week Bryan and I were able to go out on a date ( thank you Oma and Opa! ) and we went to La Paella in Los Angeles. Bryan had heard about this place from a co-worker that week and we both really wanted to try it. Bryan served his mission in Spain and we were very fortunate to spend a week in Spain before we had Brooke 5 years ago. The food in Spain was incredible. We've been to many restaurants that claim to make paella and tapas that are "authentic" to Spain. We would always leave disappointed. Well not that night!!! Our food was AMAZING! It was as if we had stepped foot right back into Spain. We left so happy and satisfied and we are planning a trip back in the very near future. I was so sad to have left my camera at home so these I took with my iphone so they are not the best quality. 1.) The Restaurant 2.) Paella de Montana con Chorizo 3.) Champinones con Chorizo 4.) Calamares a la Romana 5.) Tortilla Espanola ( Bryan's favorite, he would eat it all the time in as a missionary in Spain)
