Our Fourth of July Fun
We had a wonderful 4th of July. Enjoy all of the fun posts below!

Fourth of July Fun...Fireworks & S'mores
After our slip n slide fun we headed inside to dry off and got ready for fireworks. Bryan bought a ton of fireworks. Brody lasted through a few and then decided that he would be happier inside with a movie and his blanket. Brooke and I enjoyed our little fireworks show for a bit. I noticed lightening in the distance, Bryan thought it was fireworks. After a few minutes the wind changed directions and got kind of creepy and then there was no denying the lightening and soon to be mini monsoon. So we headed inside to enjoy s'mores. Yum!
Fourth of July Fun...The Slip n Slide
Bryan set up the slip n slide after dinner. So fun! Brooke loved it! Bryan taught her how to run and slide and she was so good at it too. Brody had fun too...after Bryan scooped him up unknowingly and sent him sliding down the slip n slide on his tummy..the last picture above shows Brody not too happy about that, I think he secretly enjoyed it.
4th of July Fun...Our Little BBQ
This was our very first 4th of July celebration on our own here in Arizona and we had fun! Bryan, the kids and I went grocery shopping in the morning for lots of fun yummy BBQ foods, fruit and S'mores stuff and of course the all important fireworks. On a side note the wonderful produce gentleman at Safeway helped me pick out the most delicious watermelon and I'm so proud of myself for cutting it up on my own for the the first time...silly I know but I had never done that! We have tons of leftover watermelon as you can imagine. Enjoy the next few 4th of July posts!
Brody's First Movie
On Saturday we took Brody to his very first movie. We saw Cars 2. Fun! Brooke was not into the movie at all becuase there were no princesses and Brody lasted maybe 1/2 way through the movie. Not bad for a first timer. Brooke was the same way at this age. We had a fun time and a great start to the 4th of July weekend.

Homemade Ice-Cream
Want some?
Last week the doorbell rang and I hear footsteps running down the stairs...nope it was not from my two monsters... it was Bryan. I knew right away that it was UPS delivering some new toy for Bryan. Bryan rushes to the kitchen and has me guess what was inside and it was....the ice-cream maker attachment for my kitchen-aid! Fun!! So we made ice-cream. It was almost a 3-5 day process between freezing the attachment and buying ingredients but the end result was a dream! We made cookies and cream ice-cream and it was incredible. At first (see photo above) the consistency was like that of a think milkshake but after we poured it in some Rubbermaid containers and let it freeze in the freezer it was the creamiest most delicious ice-cream ever! Next time we are going to try to make sorbet! Thank you Bryan for surprising me with a new kitchen toy! xoxoxo!
Sprinkler Fun!
